I love big Victorian houses. And I know these are crappy quality photos, but it’s because they’re the best I could find of these specific homes.

The first is the house from the 1968 version (and, in my humble opinion, the only version worth watching) of Yours, Mine, and Ours starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda. Though I assume the scenes from inside the home were only a set and not the actual inside of this house, the outside is still stunning, and the concept of a house like that one, inside and out, unreal as it may be, is enough to enchant me.

The second is the Spellman house from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Again, though the inside is probably a created environment, I still love the idea of it.

One thing both of these have in common, and something I believe attracts me significantly more to one Victorian home than another, is that they are set back farther in the lot. It makes them more grand to me. Plus, people, at least where I am, have such diminished front yards these days. And yards in general…
